AREA-DELAY-POWER EFFICIENT CARRY-SELECT ADDER
ABSTRACT:
In this paper, we made an analysis on the logic operations involved in conventional carry select adder (CSLA) and binary to excess-1 converter (BEC)-based CSLA to study the data-dependency and to identify redundant logic operations. We have eliminated all the redundant logic operations present in conventional CSLA and proposed a new logic formulation
for CSLA. In the proposed scheme, the carry-select operation is scheduled before the calculation of final-sum, which is different from the conventional approach. Bit-patterns of two anticipating
carry-words (corresponding to Cin=0 and 1) and fixed Cin bits are used for logic optimization of carry select and generation units. An efficient CSLA design is obtained using optimized logic units. The proposed CSLA design involves significantly less area and delay than the recently proposed BEC-based CSLA. Due to small carry-output delay, the proposed CSLA design is a good candidate for square-root (SQRT)-CSLA. Theoretical estimate shows that the proposed SQRT-CSLA involves nearly less area-delay-product (ADP) than the BEC-based SQRTCSLA which is the best amongst the existing SQRT-CSLA designs on average for different bit-widths. FPGA synthesis result shows that, the BEC-based SQRT-CSLA design involves more Area Delay Product and consumes more energy than the proposed SQRT-CSLA on average for different bit-widths.
EXISTING SYSTEM:
Conventional CSLA is a RCA-RCA configuration which generates a pair of sum words and output-carry bits corresponding the anticipated input-carry (cin= 0 and 1), and selects one out of each pair for final-sum and final-output-carry. Conventional CSLA has less CPD than RCA, but the design is not attractive, since it uses dual RCA. Few attempt have been made to avoid dual use of RCA in CSLA design.
EXISTING SYSTEM TECHNIQUE:
·         Ripple Carry Adder

EXISTING SYSTEM DRAWBACKS
·         More area overhead system
·         More power consumption
PROPOSED SYSTEM
The CBL based CSLA of involves significantly less logic resource than the conventional CSLA, but it has longer CPD which is almost equals to that of RCA. To overcome this problem, SQRT-CSLA based on CBL has been proposed. We observe that, logic optimization largely depends on availability of redundant operations in the formulation, where adder delays mainly depends on data-dependency.
Proposed Technique:
Binary to Excess-1 Converter

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

A QoS-Oriented Distributed Routing Protocol for Hybrid Wireless Networks
ABSTRACT:
As wireless communication gains popularity, significant research has been devoted to supporting real-time transmission with stringent Quality of Service (QoS) requirements for wireless applications. At the same time, a wireless hybrid network that integrates a mobile wireless ad hoc network (MANET) and a wireless infrastructure network has been proven to be a better alternative for the next generation wireless networks. By directly adopting resource reservation-based QoS routing for MANETs, hybrids networks inherit invalid reservation and race condition problems in MANETs. How to guarantee the QoS in hybrid networks remains an open problem. In this paper, we propose a QoS-Oriented Distributed routing protocol (QOD) to enhance the QoS support capability of hybrid networks. Taking advantage of fewer transmission hops and any cast transmission features of the hybrid networks, QOD transforms the packet routing problem to a resource scheduling problem. QOD incorporates five algorithms: 1) a QoS-guaranteed neighbor selection algorithm to meet the transmission delay requirement, 2) a distributed packet scheduling algorithm to further reduce transmission delay, 3) a mobility-based segment resizing algorithm that adaptively adjusts segment size according to node mobility in order to reduce transmission time, 4) a traffic redundant elimination algorithm to increase the transmission throughput, and 5) a data redundancy elimination-based transmission algorithm to eliminate the redundant data to further improve the transmission QoS. Analytical and simulation results based on the random way-point model and the real human mobility model show that QOD can provide high QoS performance in terms of overhead, transmission delay, mobility-resilience, and scalability.

EXISTING SYSTEM:
Hybrid wireless networks (i.e., multi-hop cellular networks) have been proven to be a better network structure for the next generation wireless networks and can help to tackle the stringent end-to-end QoS requirements of different applications. Hybrid networks synergistically combine infrastructure networks and MANETs to leverage each other. Specifically, infrastructure networks improve the scalability of MANETs, while MANETs automatically establish self-organizing networks, extending the coverage of the infrastructure networks. In a vehicle opportunistic access network (an instance of hybrid networks), people in vehicles need to upload or download videos from remote Internet servers through access points (APs) (i.e., base stations) spreading out in a city. Since it is unlikely that the base stations cover the entire city to maintain sufficiently strong signal everywhere to support an application requiring high link rates, the vehicles themselves can form a MANET to extend the coverage of the base stations, providing continuous network connections.
DISADVANTAGES OF EXISTING SYSTEM:
·        Difficult to guarantee QoS in MANETs due to their unique features including user mobility, channel variance errors, and limited bandwidth.
·        Although these protocols can increase the QoS of the MANETs to a certain extent, they suffer from invalid reservation and race condition problems.
PROPOSED SYSTEM:
In order to enhance the QoS support capability of hybrid networks, in this paper, we propose a QoS-Oriented Distributed routing protocol (QOD). Usually, a hybrid network has widespread base stations. The data transmission in hybrid networks has two features. First, an AP can be a source or a destination to any mobile node. Second, the number of transmission hops between a mobile node and an AP is small. The first feature allows a stream to have any cast transmission along multiple transmission paths to its destination through base stations, and the second feature enables a source node to connect to an AP through an intermediate node.

ADVANTAGES OF PROPOSED SYSTEM:
·        The source node schedules the packet streams to neighbours based on their queuing condition, channel condition, and mobility, aiming to reduce transmission time and increase network capacity.
·        Taking full advantage of the two features, QOD transforms the packet routing problem into a dynamic resource scheduling problem.

WirelessHART is a new standard specifically designed for real-time and reliable communication between sensor and actuator devices for industrial process monitoring and control applications. End-to-end communication delay analysis for WirelessHART networks is required to determine the schedulability of real-time data flows from sensors to actuators for the purpose of acceptance test or workload adjustment in response to network dynamics. In this paper, we consider a network model based on WirelessHART, and map the scheduling of real-time periodic data flows in the network to real-time multiprocessor scheduling. We then exploit the response time analysis for multiprocessor scheduling and propose a novel method for the delay analysis that establishes an upper bound of the end-to-end communication delay of each real-time flow in the network. Simulation studies based on both random topologies and real network topologies of a 74-node physical wireless sensor network testbed demonstrate that our analysis provides safe and reasonably tight upper bounds of the end-to-end delays of real-time flows, and hence enables effective schedulability tests for WirelessHART networks.

NETWORK SECURITY PHD PROPOSAL NS2 PHD PROPOSAL NS2 PHD PROJECTS IN CHENNAI PONDICHERRY

VLSI PHD RESEARCH 2015-2016 VLSI PHD PROJECT GUIDANCE CHENNAI

VLSI PHD RESEARCH 2015-2016 VLSI PHD PROJECT GUIDANCE CHENNAI PONDICHERRY

Doctor of philosophy is the final degree in any area. It requires a lot of efforts and hard work to achieve this.It starts with selection of a topic which should be recent and lies in your area of interest. If we talk specifically about research in technology then the next step is not straightforward and as simple as studying, collecting data, analyzing and writing the hypothesis. Research in technology requires implementation of work in the form of prototype or actual real time implementation of the idea.

If we narrow down our discussion to research in areas like electronics, electrical, computer science, artificial intelligence , wireless communication and related fields, which are the base of everything in this high-tech world. In these fields researchers have developed applications (aided with technology) for every field ranging from biomedical to aerospace and construction, which were nowhere related to electronics or even current.
As the research fields we are talking about are providing base to the developing world and providing it with reliable technologies which are being used in real time, the work of researcher becomes more wide starting with an idea to the realization of the idea in the real world in form of application or product.

To make a reliable and working model the idea of the VLSI design project ( i.e speech processing application, biomedical monitoring system etc) needs to be implemented and re-implemented, re-tested and improvised. The there are many development cycles and techniques available which eases up the implementation like:

·         Behavioral simulation
·         Software based model
·         Hardware Implementation (ASIC)
·         Programmable hardware (FPGA)
·         Co-simulation

Behavioral simulation is used at initial phase and it is not appropriate for testing the real time behavior of the system in actual environment as it is more close to systems behavior in ideal environment.

We can simulate the actual environment by using different software models (more like software models of channels used to test communication systems) but its capabilities are also limited to human capability to model the environmental conditions in mathematical equations and models.

All of us are familiar with ASIC, their high performance and hardwired implementation. These are good for final implementation but not for intermediate stages of implementation and testing. Nothing is better than ASIC for real time testing of analog VLSI circuits. But for digital circuits and DSP applications we have a better option of FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array).

The hardware co-simulation is a good idea to test and monitor systems in real time. To get more details aboutPhD thesis in VLSI you can do online research or contact us.
